It's true. Manufacturing of the popular BlueWater Canyon Pro is on hold. The U.S. military is buying up all of Honeywell's production of Spectra fiber for use in body armor.
It should be back on the market in the near future. BlueWater is experimenting with some hybrid sheaths for their next generation of canyoneering ropes. Primary goal is even more abrasion resistance. Canyoneers tend to be very hard on their ropes.
