Does anyone have advice/suggestions for canyoneering (or canyoning, as they call it) in Costa Rica? We're planning a trip to Costa Rica in March. The travel guides have canyoning tours available, but I don't necessarily want a tour guide. So I'm looking to see if anyone has suggestions. Thanks! :D

Hello folks,

I know a great canyoning tour located only 1 hour away from San Jose. It is Explornatura they have the greatest Canyoning tour in costa rica:
www.costaricacanyoning.com.
I really had a wonderful experience with it also, the town ( Turrialba) seems paused on time so, you will see a very country town.

They mix the tour with few ziplines, bungees and hanging bridges. It is a 4 hours tour deep in the real tropical forest. You will love it.

I hope this can be helpful for you!!!

Bungees... now that's an innovative way to descend a canyon! I wonder if that's an item on the Advanced Skills Checklist?

Catware11,

What they do is mix the adventure between every waterfall. The second one has a zipline that takes you to a treetop then there is a Bungee Jump to come down and keep going to the third waterfall.
This is fun because, there is not only the rappel but you can have more activities on it. I am an amateur and thats why I loved.

Looking forward for your response
