I have a camaro farmer john style wetsuit. I'd like to get something to cover my upper body better and was wondering if a drytop would work. Would water just come up from the lower part of the wetsuit and get inside the drytop? Anyone have any experience with this? I know I could just get a neoprene jacket (and will if necessary), but the drytop would be great if it worked. Any advice would help.

Hi Zach,
The dry top will work.
I'm sure you understand how a wetsuit works ... traps a thin layer of water inside next to your body. Body heat warms the layer of water ... To work properly, the wetsuit needs to fit snug.
If both wetsuit and dry top are snug, the amount of water that seeps up is very, very minimal. I once did a winter canyoneering trip with this combination. Wore a layer of fleece over my farmer john, under a paddling dry top. At the end of the day, the fleece was only slightly damp in the back.

Rich,
Thanks for the info. This option seems much warmer than a neoprene top. Now I just have to find one for a good price. ;)
