Start cleaning out your garage and/or basement. Bring in your used outdoor gear and browse through the cool stuff others bring. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I've been cleaning out my own basement and found climbing gear, tents, backpacks, skis and more. Wife says sell it all and sell it cheap.

We'll also have some special deals on new gear in the store, including climbing ropes, harnesses, chalk bags and more.

Had a great day at the gear swap. I cleared out more gear from the basement, but it seems like a bottomless pit.

Gear brought in by others included new and only slightly used climbing shoes and harnesses, clothes, backpacks, snowboarding boots, etc. At least two mountain bikes changed hands. Several people commented on the rope rug in front of the store, inspiring Chris and Jamie to weave one with one of my old climbing ropes. It turned out really nice.

Taking today off and heading up to Brian Head.
