A very entertaining non technical route. A short and easy approach to some entertaining canyon terrain. While in the area, make sure you check out Peek-a-Boo and Brimstone

Topographic Maps
USGS 7.5' Big Hollow Wash
Directions to Trailhead
Head East out of the town of Escalante to the signed Hole In the Rock Road. Drive this dirt road for over 26 miles to the signed turn off on the left for 'Dry Fork Trailhead'. Take this road for about 3/4 of a mile to the first junction and turn left. Follow that road to its end at the trailhead, about another 3/4 of a mile

Approach
From the trailhead, follow the easily identified hiker trail down in to the wash. There is a shallow canyon on the left as you first reach the wash. These are kinda pretty but very un-entertaining narrows. From those narrows, continue to your right and you will see the entrance to Peek-a-Boo. The best way to do Spooky is as a loop with Peek-a-Boo. Ascend up Peek-a-Boo, and once you hit the open wash at the top, turn right. Follow the hiker trail if you can, but regardless, you will soon see the large, open wash. Turn right again and follow the wash to the head of Spooky.

Description: Standard Route
From the top of the Narrows, start hiking in. In can get very narrow at times, although nothing you need to be worried about. There are some good downclimbs, and some scenic, deep, dark sections
Exit
When you reach the bottom of Spooky, it enters in the the large Dry Forks wash. Make your way South and then back West to where you originally entered. You should see the entrance to Peek-a-Boo, and find the trail back to your car
Alternate Route
Instead of doing Peek-a-Boo first, you can switch it around, and make your way to the Spooky Drainage, and go up it, and return down Peek-a-Boo, or one of the many other chances to return back to the main wash
