A friend of mine has a pair of Five.ten Savants, size 12, he would like to sell for $75. They have been worn once and are in extremely good condition, like new. He just bought them a size too small.

If you are unfamiliar with the Savant it has the same soles as the canyoneer and is a good shoe for canyoneering. They are in the Salt Lake area and he will ship them for free. I'll try to get some pictures up a little later.

Let me know if your interested.

Hmmmm... What size of shoe does he normally wear? I am looking for Savants, but I usually get 13s, so they may be too small

In my opinion they run small. The toe box squished my big toes. Did Kolob through the narrows last year and lost my big toenails becouse of these suckers. Great shoes if they fit ya right though!

If you have not sold them prior to the Moab rendezvous, bring them with you. I also may be interested but would like to try them on. I wear an 11 but buy a 12 so I can use with a neoprene sock.

Thanks for the info Frank. That is what I figured. I would probably want a little bigger than 13 to factor in neoprene socks.

He normally wears a 12. I have a pair of the shoes myself, I prefer them to the canyoneer when there is a lot of hiking because they are lighter and more comfortable. I'll bring them to the Rendezvous Dan.

I just purchased a pair of Savants for Canyoneering, so I thought I would share a thought or two. I usually wear a size 10 in normal tennis shoes. I had the five ten access (amazing shoe) and would wear a size 11 for neoprene socks, I got a size 11 savant and they were way to big even with neoprene. Also, the toes are really wide and it made it really hard to climb on small ledges. While i still love five ten shoes, I didn't like the Savant at all and wouldn't want to use it for canyoneering.

This is my humble opinion and I am sure there are people who love them too...just wanted to share...
