Hi guys!

I found this website while I was searching some info about canyoneering. I'm mexican and I saw a link for an spanish forum at canonismo.net, but both links, english and spanish, links to here.

I just want to be sure that I can post here (since I don't know if there is actually an spanish ACA forum), although I would post some canyoneering experiences about some places in Mexico.

I hope you can give me some directions.

PS sorry for my english... Still learning.

Of course you can post here.

Sorry for the confusion between the English and Spanish sites. We have a new site designed that we want to unveil. The one issue standing in our way is translations. We have tried several approaches, but all end up with the typical Babelfish type translation that changes words, but screws up grammar.

We're still working on it.

In the meantime, we will be happy to tolerate your poor English if you will tolerate our poor English. Some of us are from southern Utah.

We would like to have you post some of the canyoneering experiences from Mexico, have been looking at going down there to do some canyons for some time and any tips/canyons would be helpful. Welcome...:)

Thanks... I'll keep posting here...

thafen, about my canyoneering experiences, I had just one at Matacanes Canyon (I think that it's a 3-C-III). We was guided by professionals who gave us a little introduction about canyoneering but, although we had a 100ft and a 60ft rapel, we didn't make any knot or something like that... Then I have no experience or tips about canyoneering except bringing with you a lot of peanuts in a home made keg (errr... mayonnaise keg... lol)

This sunday I'll be coming back to Matacanes with a couple of my friends, but this time we'll be going upriver... Since it's a "C" class canyon, swimming against the river flow will be more challenging. We'll start at "Las adjuntas", the usual end of the Matacanes trip and we'll try to reach the cave (point where starts the trip called "Half Matacanes") because we have no ropes and no experience to keep ascending to the top of the canyon.

I'll be posting photos soon...

PS meanwhile I was typing this message, a package arrived to mi office... A used neoprene suit that I bought a couple days ago from Internet... Yeah!!
