A short, but amazing, technical canyon deep into the Grand Canyon with rushing water and a big waterfall.

Time Required: 3-4 days
Longest Rappel: 180 feet

Permit Information
A backcountry permit is required in order to camp in the Grand Canyon. Application forms are available online. The applications can be submitted up to 4 months in advance, which might be a good idea since Deer Creek can get busy and the permits are issued on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The technical portion of the canyon is short - just a few hours. If you're lucky enough to have boat access the approach is also short 1-2 hours; if you need to backpack into and out of Grand Canyon to access the canyon, that part will take several days.
