Warning: as of 10 days ago a major log/debris jam has formed under the powerlines that are approximately 1 mile west of where X-Pine canyon meets West Clear Creek. Passage through the log jam is possible, but will take time and patience. Weak swimmers and those with little upper body strength may require assistance.
Also: I believe the longest rappel to be 70 feet, combined with a 40 ft rappel, thus requiring at least a 125 ft rope.
A buddy and I recently did this canyon as a down and back trip to work on our ascending skills. We packed a 200', a 100' and a 50' rope, but we really didn't need the 50 footer. We just used it for a handline on a short downclimb for a little added security.
The first rappel is a semi two-stage and then about 50' down canyon is the second rappel. We rigged both of these rappels with the 200' rope, reblocking it at the anchor for the second rappel just to get some of the stretch out of the rope for the ascent.
We used the 100' rope for the final rappel, near the confluence with West Clear Creek. Just be sure you're ready for the ascent back up this overhanging rappel. It was kind of a pain to get up!
Overall I think this canyon works well as a down and back trip. I'm not sure if it's any faster than hiking out the standard way, but it was a good chance to practice ascending in a wild canyon.

As of 7/17 The log jam under the power lines has broken up. There are still several logs but we were able to go to the right and just had to push one out of the way and were able to easily pass.
