Cooper River is a tributary of the Cle Elum River. There is a canyon about one and three quarters mile long above the confluence. It is nontechnical. Kayakers running it have given it a class 4 and 5 rating. There is substantial water and strong currents even in late summer. It is very pristine. There are plenty of swims and opportunities for short slides.
