This description is for a short out and back trip to the beautiful gorge at the lower end of Nickel Creek. The gorge is under a quarter mile in length. It ends at the confluence with the Muddy Fork of the Cowlitz River, from where you can get a good view of the natural bridge that spans the river. The sight of this rare feature more than justifies the modest effort needed to reach this point.
