Dalles Creek, located east of Mount Rainier, has cut a deep gorge as it flows steeply down to join the White River. A fine trail parallels the creek up the gorge giving excellent views of the canyon walls rising hundreds of feet above. The trail was built by the Boy Scouts. Hikers can appreciate the fine scenery without ever leaving the trail. Canyoneers will want to enhance the experience and descend the two waterfalls on the creek. Dalles Creek has a very small drainage area, so water flows are low in early season when other creeks are not yet feasible.
