Mosquito Creek carves a wooded canyon into the dense Coast Mountain forests rising above the city of North Vancouver, with the course of the stream including a number of waterfalls as well as excellent trail access. The canyon is relatively open and V-shaped, but the proximity to the city and presence of numerous old logging skid roads results in excellent trail access to the gorge. The canyon, therefore, is a good canyoning descent with a relatively low degree of commitment, although the number of obstacles generates a longer day when the entire drainage descent is done. A major trail crossing partway down the drainage from the upper entry allows the descent to be divided into more manageable segments.
