Governor Huntsman's Outdoor Recreation Task Force is requesting public input to identify and evaluate Utah's outdoor recreation destinations.

The Task Force has created a survey to gather input from residents and recreationists in an effort to identify and evaluate the preservation, protection and management needs of Utah's recreation, cultural and heritage destinations; natural areas; and outdoor experiences.

The ultimate objectives are to protect and promote Utah's vast outdoor recreation resources and to support a strong outdoor recreation economy.

The survey needs to be completed by as many Utah residents and recreationists as possible by June 15, 2005. Input can be provided by logging on to: www.outdoortaskforce.utah.gov and clicking on the "Survey" link. The site also has information on Task Force membership, goals and objectives.

The Task Force is seeking information that is qualitative, not quantitative. It is not the number of responses on a given area but information related to recreational qualities and concerns that is needed.

Please direct this survey to organizations and individuals who have an interest in outdoor recreation and conservation in Utah.
