Right Fork of Ice Box
Nice half day canyon with a trickle of water running all year round keeping the whole canyon green.

Rating: 3BII
Time Required: 5-8 hours
Longest Rappel: 120 feet

Preferred Season
Spring / Fall -really hot hike in the summer

Water Concerns
All water avoidable

Special Challenges
Rout finding to drop in is difficult. All but first rap are natural anchors

Equipment Suggestions
Standard Technical Gear (harness, descending device, helmet, multiple locking carabineers, slings, etc), 2 120’ foot ropes, at least 30’ of webbing, 4-5 rap rings/links, ascenders.

Directions to Trailhead
Follow ice box canyon trailhead and exit north (red dirt and start climb at chimney crack) just before canyon closes up. Follow a light use trail marked with occasional cairns.

Description
The description here actually drops into this fork at the half way point. The first rap is about 120’ off 2 bolts to the left of waterfall. 3 more raps to 50 feet to follow. Canyon ends 100 feet from last fall on Ice Box.

Exit
Same exit as Ice box. Follow drainage out and end at parking lot



Note: This canyon can be done completely from the top down, adding a few more raps with the initial over 200 feet. -This beta soon to come-
