I'm looking for opinions on the North Face Flash Flood backpack.
For those who haven't seen it, the main pack body is a roll top dry bag. Unlike many others of this design (e.g. some Seal Line packs) it has a frame sheet that would presumably help it carry much better. Also, it has a "beaver tail" style flap behind the main body (like a Dana Design Bomb Pack) that would allow several large items (e.g. rope) to be packed without opening the dry bag seal. It also has a small mesh pouch for smaller items (e.g. knife, compass).
This sounded like a a very reasonable approach to me, but I've not had an opportunity to try one.
Does anyone have any experience with it?
