What are your plans next weekend (July 8-9)?
Can you top this? I'll be in Wayne, Nebraska, for the 25th Annual Chicken Show (and my 30th HS reunion).

Yeah, Neil. I bet North Platte doesn't have anything as big as the Chicken Show. Did I tell you about the 26 chickens in our living room? Baby chicks, but growing fast.
Rich, I thought you went to school at Boulder High? Or was that your kids?

Hi Mike,
Freshman and sophomore years in Nebraska. Junior year at Boulder High (and Boulder Valley Vo-Tech). Graduated from Aurora Central (Denver). Grew up with the kids in Nebraska. Haven't seen most of them since 1973. Could be weird. Thankfully, I'll have the Chicken Show to fall back on. :D

Coincidentally, I'm in Nebraska (Broken Bow) at a class / family reunion.
I knew there was something extra different about Rich...

Nebraska Laws? OK ~ If you EVER had any sort of personal problem with RC, take it up with his home state! Trust me on this one - NEBRASKA is to blame!

One more last little tidbit about that silly state of Nebraska before I sign off: Get a load of some of the weird town names in that state! I bet Rich is happy that he came from Wayne rather than Worms! Hahahaha :D
Nebraska Towns:
Beaver Crossing
Colon
Fort Crook
Loup City
Roach
Surprise
Valentine
Wahoo
Weeping Water

Another slow day at work, Randi? Nothing to do but Google Nebraska?
Chicken Show was fun. Huge parade. Great fireworks. Daughter, Sierra, made it to finals in egg catching contest.
Thousands of canyons in Nebraska ... between rows of corn.

I’m slow at work today!

My family left me to go exploring along the Yuba River and at first I was thinking “all right I’ve got the house to myself!
Only problem was the house was a mess!
Before I could enjoy the solitude I’d had to clean the place! :(
Once I started, I couldn’t stop. Everywhere I looked, there was another mess! By the time I was finished (sat. night – late) absolutely every inch of my place was spic-and span including Lewis’s mess in the garage and my two teenagers bedrooms! I even mowed and edged the yard!
Whew! I can finally relax and enjoy myself I thought. But nooooo, the house was too darn quiet. I had nothing to do now! I wasn’t in the mood to do anything I had the option of doing. I curled up with a good book ~ too boring! I called an old friend ~ too boring! I thought about watching TV – WAY too boring! ~What is there to do? ~
As a last resort I plopped down on the couch exhausted but restless and I just started thinking about stuff! Somewhere in those thoughts – YOU came to mind.
What on earth possesses a man to keep chickens in his front room I thought? What on earth possesses a man to drive his family “cross-country to see a “chicken show? I figured it must have a lot to do with the state of Nebraska. I mean, what else is there to do in Nebraska? No mountains? No ocean? No desert? Everybody must sit around dreaming up stuff to do with chickens.
They’re such cute little critters aren’t they? They lay eggs! They come in all shapes and sizes and colors. They even have fancy ones that have silly looking headdress feathers right? I bet they even have chicken fashion shows in Nebraska right? AND then…when the chicken festivals and the chicken fashion shows and the egg laying contests are all over with – there’s a BIG FEAST starring a bunch of well-dressed chickens! YUM YUM! :D
So yeah, I did end up googling Nebraska!
Maybe Nebraska isn’t so bad after all. Especially now that you’ve gone out there and introduced “corn-yaneering to em.
Your e-mail threw me for a loop at first. I misread it and thought it said:
Daughter, Sierra, made it to finals in egg HATCHING contest.
That would have been really weird!!!!! Hahahaha….
Congratulations to Sierra!
You didn’t mention the “ High School Reunion how was it?

I've been doing my homework here. Have you looked at the awesome cluck-tibles? This stuff is kick a**.
You can get the official 25th anniversary Wayne Chicken Show Egg for only $20. Something any red blooded American would be proud to have over the fire place. As a matter of fact this fine collectable is 'Designed and Hand-painted in Romania'. Imagine all those Romanians slaving away in an effort to promote the Wayne chicken show. It's truley an international effort brought about by a coalition of the willing.
Get yours today http://www.chickenshow.com/clucktibles/

Come drink beer at the Platte Bar with me next June, Yee haw. They go so far as to errect a chain link fence around the platte Bar that spills out onto the ajoining streets so you are not 'outside' to get nicked for an open container. Talk about Red Neck ingenuity!
