Step 1: Stop and hang from the ascender that is attached to your harness.
Step 2: Attach your rappelling device to the rope, take out all of the slack, then lock it off (using leg wraps or other method).
Step 3: Step up in your foot loop to release the ascender on which you have been hanging, then lower your weight onto your locked off rappelling device.
Step 4: Remove your ascenders from the rope.
Step 5: Release the lock-off on your rappelling device and rappel.
