Sorry I don't have any information to give you. I am just starting to explore canyoneering - literally, I just googled it tonight after hearing someone talking about it on the subway. I love the outdoors but I live in a city and am itching to get into nature. I have never done anything like canyoneering before, expect for hiking in the woods days at a time. Could anyone go without experience? My interest in doing this centres on the fact that I would be doing a lot of physical exersice, taking in nature's beauty while in the company of others. I would love to go to the Copper Canyon only because it sounds amazing and I am up for an adventure.
What do you suggest for first timers - female, 30 years old.

Not a good idea for a novice to go canyoneering alone, especially in that area. Very easy to get lost.

We have a member named Jim Barnaby who lives and guides down there. Username: Santiago. Contact him for more information.

Aren't there groups that go together? Or can you easily get lost in a group?

Is that a real picture of you?

There are non-commercial groups. Challenge will be finding one that is doing real canyoneering and not just hiking. I've done some guiding down there in the past. Always hired a local to help with logistics, shuttle, etc.

Is that a real picture of you?

Yes, that is a real photo. Well, sort of.

I am also looking for beta on the Copper Canyon area. I sent an email to Santiago. If anyone else finds out anything let me know.
