Two questions:
1) I've got my eye on a Sterling SuperStaticTM 3/8" as my first canyoneering rope. Does anyone have any experience with this or other Sterling products? Resistance to water absorption is a MAJOR issue for me, and this is one of the few static, rapelling ropes I've seen that actually proclaims itself to have a "dry" core or treatment. Does it work? Is their something better someone can suggest?
Of course there is the Bluewater Canyon Pro but its very expensive and a bit thin (8mm) for my first rope I think.
2) Does anyone make "dry" accessory cord? Anyone know of accessory cords that are more or less prone to absorb water? I plan to carry 100+ft of 8mm accessory for use as handlines, rapelling short drops and to retrieve my main rope when necessary. (I recongize that accessory cord isn't "real" rope and can't be depended on as such, but I think the occasional non-life threatening uses I have in mind are appropriate)
Thanks much for any advice!
