  • Welcome to the ACA RSS Feed

The American Canyoneering Academy (formerly the American Canyoneering Association) is the premier source for training, technical forums and services for recreational canyoneers, canyon leaders, guides and rescue professionals in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

    Founded in 1999 to ...

    • Promote safety, self-reliance and ethics through education.
    • Facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among an international canyoneering community.
    • Provide venues for networking between canyoneers; regionally, nationally and internationally.

The primary focus of the ACA is education and training.
Through our courses, workshops, rendezvous, meetups and informative online forums, the ACA has been and continues to be, instrumental in setting standards and providing leadership for the canyoneering community.

Canyoneering, canyoning, cañonismo, barranquismo, kloofing, gorge walking, river trekking, river tracing – these are all ...

Join us for our annual Canyon Rendezvous
Our Canyon Rendezvous provide opportunities for diverse groups of canyoneers to get together to practice skills learned in ACA courses and elsewhere, meet new friends and have fun doing canyons.

We believe that bringing people together is good for the sport. It brings people into the community; encourages sharing of ideas, information and techniques; and improves safety and ethics.

All are welcome! Bring your family. Bring your friends.
