Points for Beta, Scenarios, Videos

You can earn bonus points for posting canyon beta and scenarios in the forums. You can also earn points for posting videos on the ACA's YouTube Channel.

Effective 1 June 2009

You will receive 20 bonus points when you post a Scenario in the Technical Canyoneering section of the forums. Bonus points are in addition to the points you receive for starting a new thread.

To qualify, scenarios must start with a "What's wrong?" or "What would you do?" photo or illustration attached for other forum users to critique. Be sure to use the "Scenario" prefix and choose a title that does not give away the answer(s).

You can earn 30 points for each video you post on the ACA's YouTube Channel.

We will receive notice when you post your videos, but to be sure we donate points to the correct account, please write to us at videos@canyoneering.net with your forum username.

Rich do we get points for organizing canyons in Moab? I have some video of the blimpee hanger rap of Jantzen and also the pool arch rap, with Corry. I will try to get these on.

Yes, you do get points for organizing canyon trips during a rendezvous. Working on a formal submission procedure through your chain of command. In the meantime, send me an email with the name of each canyon and the number of people who participated.

NOTE: There will be a cap on the number of points received per trip. We don't want the point system to encourage people to take large groups through canyons. Personally, I think it should be capped at 5-6 people.

When you have your videos ready, post them to the YouTube channel. If you have any problems, talk to Jim.
