The point system was originally set up for the Canyon Leader program. Canyon Leaders who volunteered their time could earn points that were redeemable toward advanced training. Some of the Canyon Leaders took advantage of it. Others didn't. The idea kinda fizzled.

The original credit system also had a feature for point raffles. I used it to raffle off several Totems, ropes and other gear. The latest edition of the program did away with the raffle system. Disappointing. I thought it was a good feature.

Later I used it to encourage professional guides to take over the forums. They could earn points that they could redeem for banner ads and such. Steve Morga was the only guide who really good advantage of it.

Visitors probably noticed that for several months I didn't post much on the forums. It was because I wanted others to take over so I could move on to other things. Now that the ACA has transitioned from Association to Academy, I am back putting time in, adding more features, integrating with our Facebook page, etc. and committed to spending much more time here addressing peoples' questions.
