Thread: ACA classes

  1. ACA classes

I am really happy that Rich will continue to be teaching courses through the ACA, and glad that the certification process has been separated from this training element. Until recently I was unaware of the scale of the politic that Rich and others have been dealing with in regards to moving forward canyoneering as far as both training and creating a new certification process. I needed futher understanding to have properly contributed to these past discussions. I want to thank everyone involved in the ACGA formation, and also Rich for all of his contributions. I wanted to post this for two reasons, first because Rich and others that have been involved in the process of training others deserve due credit, as the process behind making everyone happy is a difficult one. I felt that in my confusion during a past post, I undermined the whole process by not handling things in a productive way. I was simply confused and just wanted to get a clear understanding of current certification, but went poorly about this. Most importantly, I want to invite out any prospective canyon leaders or guides that would like to tag along with our crew, or tag along on our guided trips that could provide valuable experince to other guides. Similarly, if others are interested, it would be great to be exposed to other companies practices, their ethics, and techniques for their areas of operation. Feel free to contact me through the forum here for those that are interested in getting outside with us. Cheers
